is any one familliar with these? I dont know any one who uses them or that wants to use them. Which leads me to believe that they just dont sound good.

Any thoughts?

radias are terry bozzio's signature cymbals and they're meant to be played more melodically, not just as a one hit deal. i have a 9" radia cup chime and it sounds great...darker and drier than a zil-bel and with less sustain. i'm not too sure about the other types of radia cymbals, but i can guarantee that they aren't largely played because they sound bad, but because they don't suit everyone's needs. also take for example thomas lang's signature gen-x meinls...they're not bad sounding cymbals for what they do but they just don't seem to fit most music because they're designed to be played for live white noise.

Oh ok, So I guess it depends on how you use them and what kind of music you are useing them for.

Interesting, I also hate the way they look but thats just me.

My teacher has a bunch. They're all a bit too "dead" for me. Trashy, quick response, fast decay.

I have 18'' radia chinese and it sonds pretty good. It's very trashy and dark, but it's perfect for me, because i use radia as a low one. But also Radia is very specific and not everybody will like it.
