http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Zildjian-ZBT-4-Rock-Cymbal-Pack-With-Free-18-Rock-Crash?sku=490021

Now, those are all heads for my drums. It's a Ludwig 5pc Accent Combo. I have a cymbals stand, i plan on taking off the 13" hi hats and the 18" crash ride i have now, and using the 14" hi hats on my current stand, and then use the new 16" rock crash, new 20" crash ride and the new 18" rock crash, one on my old stand then the other 2 on the 2 new stands mentioned above.

Does this sound like it would work well with the style of music i play? I got those heads off the Aquarian website that was linked to from one of the stickies on this forum. If anyone knows of better heads/cymbals that would suit a rock/alternative/metal style of play please let me know or point in me in the right direction.

thanks

Instead of buying that cymbal pack, buy one or two nice cymbals. Maybe a 14" A custom crash and a Sweet ride

Yeah and you can get pre-packs of Aquarian heads also. Look for those kinds of things because they are far less expensive when purchased as such, rather than individual unit. Even if you end up with some oddball head or size-specific thingamabob still, you get a better deal.

I'd also get a Hi-Performance snare side head. The coating on the bottom side not only protects the head during heavy playing, it also dries it out just a little bit.

+1

Cheap cymbals are just disappointing. I have a Sabian Evolution 17" Effeks Crash and I think its the perfect rock crash. Its loud, a little dirty, but crystal clear. Point is, you can make any crappy drums sound good with proper heads and tuning but you cant tune a cymbal.

if you have a drum shop close to you, see if they have any used cymbals. a good used cymbal for cheap is 80,000 times better than a new crappy one.

Indeed, I got a Zildjian K ride with no line logo on it that sounded extremely killer for only 130 bucks from my local music store Cool

You can buy some Paistes PST5 instead of ZBT's or buy some Saludas...
I like your other choices =]

i would go for ZXTs if u are goin to stick with zildjians. i use to use them as my main cymbals. they are pretty decent. unless u got the money..go with A Customs! Ive also heard PST5's on videos on youtube and such..they sounded pretty dang good on video..maybe worth a shot.
