Ok who ownes a Dynasonic?

These had to be the best snairs ever put together. I have two Dynasonic Snairs, both from the Big R series from about 1977. I met a guy the other day that works at Guitar Center from my home town and he has a Dynasonic from the early 1960s.

I play a 69 Dynasonic COB and a ludwig Supraphonic for rock the supra for everything else hands down the Dyna they simple are the best snare drum ever invented, their approach to how the snares work was simply brillian Joe Thompson was way ahead of his time ...and now they cost a mint so if you get the chance to get one do it..

I would love an authentic dynasonic reissue, but yamaha would probally bastardize it. Ide go for a Dunnett replica, the shell may not be as heavy but it would have more authentic styling.

As for dynas, I have 2 60's era ones. A 5.5 and a 6.5 COB. I need to get some new puresounds for the bridge and a new tension screw for one of the bridges.

The dynas sound so great because of the vintage style COB hoops. They are heavier than the COB hoops on the market today, which are mostly made in Japan and are of inferior quality.

Im a Ludwig guy but I love my dynas. The supras and super sensitives are my everyday drums, but my dynas will never leave my arsenal.
