Post Sabian Alu Bell
Has anyone tried the Sabian Alu (Short for Aluminum) Bell? I'm interested in getting it because on the Sabian site it sounded good but I've never heard it in a beat. On Zzounds they have them for $70 for a 9" which is $20 less then on Musicians Friend. I saw it while I was leaving a Guitar Center but some guy was hogging the set it was attached to slamming on it when everyone else was just tapping testing the cymbals. It also looks nice but looks can be deseving. I'm looking to incorporate it into double bass and blast beats and some groves or solos. I'm forming a band that will most likely play screamo and metal because no one can sing.

I recently tried them and personally thinks that they're not bad at all! I think I tried the 9" one. They're way cheaper than the Zildjian Zil-bell and i think they sound somehow better!

I saw one at Guitar Center too. They don't sound bad, but to me they seemed pretty quiet. It might just have been the way i was hitting it err somethin' but they really might not be too quiet. I might buy one soon though just cuz they are cheap. I would still rather have a Zil-bel though. haha

i have one and the only thing i dont like about it is that it doesnt blend well with the bells on my other cymbals and my zil-bell. i do like the sound of it though and if youre not planning on using it with other bells at the same time, there should not be any problem.

If your looking for more of a zil-bel kinda sound, I go with the radia-cup chimes.
They sound great.

The 7" one especially.

if you want it from that site better ,hurry, only one 9" left. LP also makes good bells, comparing them to Zil-bells and they were just as good, if not better
