 Sabian Vault Crashes
I am doing some research on the Vault line of crashes... any opinions?
Be careless,
Matt

I have a 19" Vault crash with 3 rivets on the edge of the cymbal. I like it a lot.

Would you say they are pretty durable? I hear they are mighty robust for being on the thin side.

I think most any good-quality cymbal can be durable if you strike it correctly and don't over-tighten it down on the stand, with the exception of really thin splashes and Wuhan chinas. Mine's got about 1.5 years on it at this point, and seems to be holding up well.

Of course! I just ordered the 18 and 19. I'll get back with my feedback!
Thanks

vaults are pretty thin, they are not for hard-hitting metal playing. They are great for jazz and lighter playing, they are loud and bright

they are fine for metal playing as long as you use proper technique. i play thin and medium thin crashes playing metal and they hold up just fine.

I have 18 and 19"s. There great. I punish them and they have stood up to me for over a year now. I also have a 22" Artisan an that's a beauty. Apparently the 14" Hats are awseome. Check out the Saturation Crashes for a really full bodied sound, I love them aswell. Sabian are really stepping up they're game these days.

i had a 19" crash and the 14" hats for a short while. i thought they both sounded real sweet. crisp, clear and quick. but i also felt that they didn't cut through everything else very well. maybe it was the wall of old tube amps i had to compete with. anyway, if you play in a low volume setting, you'll more than likely be pleased with the crashes.

vaults are great cymbals for any style - you just have to play them right

I don't see how a 20" cymbal can be a crash.
