 Sabians Suck ??
What are you people listening to when you hear a Sabian cymbal? The only ones I've heard that actually sound like a nice sounding cymbals were the HH series... everything else just sounds blah!! I was even comparing hi-hats at the drum shop, they don't even have a nice click sound when striking them it's more like a clonk. Other than that they were the loudest hi-hats.

It is all about preference, style. It's not that one cymbal brand is better than the other. I personally like Sabian the HH and HHX Series.

Ive used sabians all my life and wouldn't use another make,
even the B8 pro's which is a budget sabian cymbal sounds pro,
and put it this way, Dave Weckyl, Terry Bozzio, Vinnie Paul, and many others dont think there rubbish
but i suppose each to there own opinion,
i woud consider using paste signatures or rude's, there awesome

I've owned quite a few Sabians over the years. The thing about Sabian, Zildjian or any other cymbal made in the Turkish fashion is that they have individual characteristics. I've even used a B8 china for pro level recording sessions and it sounded great. It just depends. I check out all the brands. There's something for everyone out there.

I've used MANY different cymbals/manufacturers....and Sabian is MY choice.
I've been playing for 18 years and do you really think I would use them if they suck?!
Every manufacturer has crap cymbals but you did NOT try every series/size!
Hell,I also have used Sabian 18" B8 Pro chinas & Sabian Pro Sonix 20" chinas and they are awesome!!!
I roll on AA/AAX/HH/Effects cymbals and I don't need an endorsment to play them!!!

I can't believe someone would actually post a subject called "Sabians Suck" first of all, not only is that an opinion not shared by many drummers, its also a very immature statement. Sabian has been around for a very long time. They are used by many drumming greats. So, im sorry, but in comparason to Billy Cobham, and other professional drummers who love and adore Sabian, your statement is completely ridiculous. It would make just as much sense for me, or someone else to say "Zildjan sucks" Even though, I may not prefer Zildjan, I still highly respect them. They have been, and are used by countless drummers around the world, just like Sabian and Paiste.
It is also impossible to try every Sabian cymbal, because no two Sabian cymbals sound the same!
I suggest doing a little growing up before you post such nonsensical subjects as this one in the near future.

I dont really dislike any particular brand, I have a mixed set of cymbals
because I liked the sound of that particular cymbal and it sounds great with the rest of my cymbals.
Your last name would happen to be Zildjian ? Would it?

 Sabians
I use primarily Sabians, and prefer their sound in general. Other than the occasional effects cymbal (my Wuhan 10" baby china, or my Zildjian 8" Zil-Bel, for example) my entire setup is Sabian. They are loud when I need them to be, quiet when I need them to be, complex in their harmonics and overtones, and are sturdy as hell.
Taking nothing away from other companies, for there are some fantastic cymbals out there (Meinl would be my next choice, personally, followed by Zildjian), I prefer Sabian. I personally use their XS series for general use (I play a lot of metal, and these are great for metal), an old AA Sound Control Crash with a chunk missing from it (and it still sounds great... like a cross between a china and a splash due to the rim damage), and am planning on getting a couple of HHs within the next month to round out my setup, and give myself a larger sound palette.
As practically everyone else has said so far... it's all about preference.

Now look here n00b, frankly I would love to see you make a better cymbal than Sabian. And if you cant find a Sabian Endorsed Professional you are clearly reading "Angling Times"
Chad Smith from the Chilis, Travis Smith from Trivium to name but two.
Like everyone else says. Personal Preference.
