hello chums

any of you guys out ther can help me with dating my slingerland kit before i sell it please?

i have had it since 1984 and the guy it bought it from died so pre dating my ownership is not possible.

it is chrome wrap and it does look original. around the the shell hole is a small oval registration plate with a number stamped on it.

can anybody assist if i was to provide more info/pics of the kit please?

Slingerland made chrome wrap drums in the 70's through the very early 80's, do you have, and can you post pictures of the badge, the floor tom tom leg brackets and the tom-tom holders? That would be helpful in identifying the exact vintage of that kit.

also i am considering re-wrapping my kit prior to selling it so could you advise what finishes were current around the date of manufacture. They have the original silver chrome at the moment but it is in poor condition.

Possibly an Avante kit. You can get chrome wrap to keep it close to the original look.

I can get a full chrome wrap for my toms and bass for £130 GBP (my snare is already chrome) so I am considering the advantages of re wrapping it b4 i sell it.

any idea of a possible date of manufacture please?
