Post slower songs
hello fellow drummers, i just bought my new set. ive been practicing some songs, para diddles, and basic drum beats. ive been searching around to see some beginner songs to learn but have issues with getting it down. couple anyone give me insight about getting videos or some type of guide? I was wondering what people as beginners start with and what songs to start with. i wanted to start with some slower songs such as dead poetic- paralytic or some dismemberment plan stuff. and later work myself up to bloc party songs. but could others please give me some songs to really get the basics down. thank you everyone. and please do not flame me i did try to search just didn't seem to find the right answers.

ps. just to let people know i bought a ludwig accent and also got a 20 in ride b8, 8in splash and a 16 in crash

good songs to start with are some rnb ones, because they have simple yet complex beats, and also because they tend to repeat over and over, its good for practising timing a fills.

bloc party - wooh that stuffs hard, i'm trying some at the moment. the prayer=very hard (because its fast)

Yes sir...My first song I learned on set was Higher by Creed, but like the next 5 were Beatles stuff. The Beatles is perfect to learn when you are first starting out. I still love to jam to their songs.

if you want to listen to some extremely well-played REALLY slow drumming on some super heavy rock , check out the Melvins, Mastodon, and Neurosis.

I think the first song I learned was either Louie, Louie or The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy...from Company C.
