so i took off one screw (both sides so two) off my snare because the lug is fucked up.
im going to replace it next time i go to a store and im just wondering is it bad if i play with my drums without a lug?

You are going to have a problem keeping tension on the head with a missing lug and if you play the head that is tensioned unevenly, you might damage the head. You also run the risk of dmamging the rim and possibly the bearing edge. I'd get it fixed as soon as you can and watch how you play until then.

Rob two inserts off your BD . As long as you arent cranking up your BD, you will be ok. Cranking up a snare to compensate for 72 degrees with no intermediate tension point, is going to distort your hoops. ........ 360 degrees in a circle. 10 lugs......... 36 degrees between lugs. It also significantly increases the amount of tension stress on the two lugs trying to compensate for the missing soldier.
