 Snare head coating
Alright I have gone through 2 snare heads since I bought my ludwigs. 1 was the original factory head, where the coating pretty much peeled off after like 1 month. Now I've got the evans genera dry head on there, and that lasted a little bit longer. I hate the sound of the plastic head with the coating removed on my snare. What snare heads would you guys say the coating lasts the longest on??

Aquarian's coating seems to last longer than Remo and Evans.

Don't get remo. The coating for their snare heads come off as soon as you play it.

Same. I have Emperor X black dot on my Wigs, and I haven't had a problem with wear-and-tear yet. I also had an Ambassador coated on my old snare, and even when I sold it after 6 months or so there was still only tiny little clear spots.

I've been a playing Remo Coated snare head for 9 months...coating's still there.
Remo Coated Controlled sound with reverse power dot. Tough, with lots of tone and deep sounding crack. and the coating DOESN'T wear off..

I have the same skin on my snare and the coating is almost all off, its only been about a month. Remos quality seems to be all over the place these these days.

Haha, well it looks like I just got a lucky set! I don't have that problem though.

Hmm it must've been just mine then. I've only had like 3 of them. I just switched to the evans reverse dot. I'm pretty happy so far.
