Post Snares!
I own a Yamaha 14x5.5 stage custom nouveou ( or however you spell it ) snare that came with my kit, and a black panther premium maple/cherry 12x7 snare. I LOVE them both. What are some of everyone elses favorite snares? and how do you set them up.

With my yamaha snare I use a remo coated with the powerdot underneath. and i tune it not TOO tight, just enough to be able to get a roll off of it. and both heads are the same. it has a nice slap sound. lots of tonality. I dont use any muffling on this one because the head is thick and that plus the tuning really kills alot of over tones. it has just the right amount of overtones. it doesnt have a "tinnie" sound. its very woody.

And with my black panther I actually liked the stock head that came with it, i use a muter ring because i tune this one a little tighter than my yamaha, but its still loose. it has a slap sound too, but more pop because of the size. it has TONS of tone because of the size ( 7 inches deep ) putting a ring on it really chokes out the overtones i dont want, i liek that snare to be really deep and thick. ( recorded it sounds like chad from breaking benjamins snare on their new album )

Tell me what you guys like!

I have lots of things to learn.
So I don't understand what "14x6.5" means.
Please help me! Thank you very much!
