you know i worked a lot "and i'm still working" in speed, and it's something that could get you very mad during a while because you can't go as fast as you want, but after some moths "starting in a very slow tempo" you can improove.

cheers

awesome! i love seeing the good ol' traditional grip, esp. when someone can pull it off and pull it off well!

You've got speed like crazy, but I wanna see you groove!! Your stick control is awesome, but...and I know as a drummer I'll be shunned for this...I can't stand watching a 'drum solo' that's a bunch of random fills and stuff. I wanna see some beats that you pull off, or some ideas that you have in your head, I bet they sound good.

good appreciation, i understand you, i do a lot of things when i do a solo, but i can groove too, i'm thinking about putting a video with an amazing bass player who i play with (for a lot of people he's the best from Switzerland) and when we play together....man that's groove a lot!

I basically try to have a good groove when i play music and i do not use to make a lot of fills, i think if you hear me playing in a track you'll think that i'm a beginner cause i respect a lot the music...

thanks for the advice, i appreciate it man Wink

haha, yeah some people can't stand it, but i like recording good sounding "noise" and i like listening to good sounding "noise". so i like random fills and stuff, coz in the end its a solo and you don't really plauy grooves in a drum solo in a proper song, yuou fill and improvise don't you?

i improvise a lot and normaly i use to do a lot of fills and less groove because of timing, but sometimes if i have so much time to soloing i try to groove... it depends of the situation

small time to do a solo : little grooving and lot of fills

big time: less fills (only in the beggining and at the end) a lot of grooving

Nice vid.

Very good, but I like for solo's to have a bit more dynamics, and to tell a story.

It's technically fascinating, but a really, really great solo isn't always about raw speedy riffs, it's about telling a story with slow entrancing hits, raw speedy riffs, and dynamics.

It's like when you tell a story to your friend. If there is tension and excitement all the time in the story, the tension negates itself, and the level of constant tension kinda becomes like a baseline. It isn't tense anymore. It's just a lot of stuff.
