 Stands
Ok I use dixon stands, they aren't cheapo, and they are VERY durable. I've abused them beyond belief and they are still holding up incredibly. I mean...it's not like they're doing much, if they hang the cymbals, aren't they doing their job? These dixons have lots of angle options, they boom out about a foot and a half, rubber feet, and the hand screw the goes over the cymbal, is awsome, smooth, and it doesn't loosen. And not only that, they come with LOTS of felt! tell me if you guys have ever heard of/used/seen them. And I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are affordable and durable. Unless you like paying a hundred bucks for a cymbals stand....( mine cost 45 )

They should be sturdy since they're Pearl's old design.

Me too. Not happy with the fact that they make my hardware case weight 8 tons, but I haven't found anything else that'll hold up to my abuse. Plus I'm anal about exact positioning on setup so the fact that literally every adjustment memory locks sold me years ago.

And this was/is a big selling point for DW. They were the first to have memrilocs for everything and have it right out of the box.

I'm using Tama Roadpro stands and they are great! Not overly expensive if you know where to look (Thomann.de) and solid as hell.
I love the fact the boom arm slide into the main shaft for compact packing and boom/straight conversion.

I recently picked up one of these stands and I dig it as well. The seller for me was the straight or boom option. They seem pretty sturdy. I've only gigged with it about 25 times, so we'll see how it holds up.

Well I tend to have my ride right over the bass drum and the arm at full length. I really hammer it too and it's been holding up fine since I got it at the start of the year.
gradually going to relace all the old crappy Pearl ones with them.

Which Pearl stands? I've been using the same two B800s to hold both cymbals and my toms for the last three years along with a B1000 for my ride.

I have no idea of series, but they came with an Export drum kit.
The booms are hollow tubes and they are really hard to adjust. A bit of oil probably wouldn't go amiss! Not saying all Pearl stands are rubbish, one of my fave old stands was a Pearl. Just saying the ones I have are rather poo!
having said that, they are still standing and holding cymbals and toms.

i have so many different kinds of stands. i have dw, pearl, tama, pdp, and even peavy. well the peavy ones are my snare stands. those things are preety cool, they have that nifty ball and socket joint that makes positioning it really easy.
