 Tama Artstar Custom and ES
Anyone know anything about these drums? I'm interested in buying a kit but information on them through the internet is very limited. Ive always loved the way they looked and sounded, but I'd like to hear other people's opinions as well. I'm also curious as to whether anyone knows of some good online used drum shops (besides e-bay).

I own a set of Arstar Customs (I think they're from the 90's - I got them used in '99).
They sound fantastic, my one gripe is that I prefer smaller toms and the 12" and 13" ones are really deep. I just gotta slap some G2s or Emperors on these babies and they sound great.
As far as getting them, I don't know. Maybe try Ebay, that's the only thing I could think of. But if you think you could get them and you like DEEP toms - they're fantastic!
If I had the money I'd probably own a new DW or Tama Starclassic kit though. Just a personal preference - I like NEW stuff!

Yeah, thanks for all the replies. I'm looking for an Artstar Custom II kit, they came with 18" deep bass drums, and they made 10 and 12 inch toms in 8 inch depths. I've been trying like hell to find a kit with this configuaration (16" and 18" floor toms in the Arstar series are semi easy to come by) with no such luck. One of these days I'm sure I'll stumble upon something. But for now does anybody know any good online used instrument shops?

It's a great kit. I've played it all the way until I coul afford to buy the higer class drums from Tama. The kit has a great sound, is easy to tune and keeps sounding good for a longer period of time. I still use it once in a while 'cause I could never sell it....\
