 The most innovative cymbal company.....
Who do you feel is leading the way in making more choices for cymbals? I am Zildjian player myself but I like the direction Sabian is headed as they seem to be offering more choices in cymbal sounds.

Saluda, by far. There's no other of the "Big 4" that offers more lines. And, Saluda will hand-make your cymbal to your specs. Try doing that with one of the "Big 4" companies. (Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste, Meinl)
Saluda offers custom choices in 11 different lines: Mist-X, Glory, Black Mist, Diamond, Earthworks, Hybrid-X, Mist Brilliant, Voodoo, Expressions, Voodoo Brilliant, and the upcoming re-release of Mist Traditional. Any one of these can be hand-made to the customer's exact specifications for weight, finish, features, color, and sound. Their customer service is light-years beyond anyone else, prices tend to run less than others (especially Paiste!), and the quality can be put up against any other company out there.
Saluda, by FAR.

Try this address:
info @ saludacymbals.com
If that doesn't work, try this one: ufsports @ hotmail.com
Just take the spaces between the address parts out.

I haven't heard Saluda's yet, but they sure look interesting~
I'm working with Turk Masters presently, they'll make anything I ask them.
They're just getting up and running, so I'm sure not many folks are familiar with the name, but I'm really digging these.
It's been quite an education too, going through hundreds of cymbals and figuring out what produces the characteristics you're looking for.
I think the little guys are really starting to give the Big Names a run for their money. Definitely worth shopping around and seeing what's out there.

That is a completely misinformed and incorrect statement, my friend.
Your cymbals, more than anything else, are your independent voice in your drumming. I don't want Virgil Donati's cymbal sound, or Thomas Lang's cymbal sound, or Neil Peart's cymbal sound, I want my own sound, and that's why I got my cymbals custom-made, made to my specifications. They are mine, and nobody else's sound like them. I'm not a pro, I play 2-3 times a month, make good money, and go back to my regular life. I'm a "weekend warrior", and f*cking proud of it.
If you think that your cymbal sound does not matter because you're not a touring or studio professional, then you just need to walk away and not play anymore. Drumming matters, and your own sound matters. Period.

maybe you misunderstood...what i mean is that you dont need a custom cymbal sound unless your a pro...because there are so many cymbal lines and companies out there...that almost any range of sound is avaliable..

Actually, Sabian WILL take custom work, hand-making a cymbal to your specs....all it takes is asking and some $.

But it doesn't cost any extra with Saluda, and it's standard practice.

I didn't misunderstand. I need and want a custom cymbal sound that is mine, not Neil Peart's Paragons, or Virgil Donati's Saturations, or Dave Weckl's Evolutions, or Akira Jimbo's K Custom Hybrids. My Saludas were made for me, to my specs, and nobody else has that sound. It's mine. Not you, not Lars, Thomas Lang, Joey Kramer, or anyone. And they can't get my sound. By purchasing custom made cymbals, you guarantee that nobody else will sound like you. By purchasing standard signature lines, you're going to have the same cymbal sound as the artist who's cymbals you're purchasing.
It's not rocket science, dude. I wanna sound like me, and my Saludas allow me to do that. If you want to sound like everyone else, that's your call. I'd rather sound like me.

I ove UFIP; they are great cymbals that unfortunately have always had difficulties in distibution! Made in Italy (molto Buono) so there is quite the quality there!
