so yeah. i just signed up and responded to a post and i thought i'd start my own topic. so here goes...
i see a lot of posts from guys asking advice on what drums to buy. what brand what sizes, etc. and there are inevitably the posts that say don't ever buy this or that or this brand blows, blah blah blah.
but i have to say that i am mostly encouraged by the responses. and i'm glad that there aren't a ton of dicks on here spouting pointless opinions on what they play and why (or maybe i just haven't read enough posts yet)
but yeah. to all of you looking to buy new shit. everyone is different, and we all like different things, and we all set up differently, and play different size sticks, and have a different body build, and got taught differently, and like a certain cymbal sound because.... because we're all different.
so go play stuff. go play lots of stuff. and then play some more. because you know what? you may like that $500 dollar drumset over the $2000 dollar drumset. just because it's expensive doesn't make it right. you may find that no company offers exactly what you're looking for and you may want to build your own (which, from personal experience, is very satisfying).
just make sure you play. and make sure that whatever you're playing feels right. because (as i said in my first post, a reply on bass pedals): it's all about feel. don't let anyone tell you differently...
