 Trick aluminum drums or DW?
Hi Guys, new to this forum.
First of all,
Has anyone played or heard Trick drums live in action? i am thinking of buying a set, they are very expensive but i am yet to hear a bad review...please let me know if anyone has come across them.
I am going for a new kit in the following sizes,
26"18"
13"11"
16"14"
18"16"
My choices are either Trick or DW at the moment..

Have not tried Trick products myself. Personally I would go with tried and true DW/PDP. Peace on ya! And welcome!

Go with Trick. The consistency and sound (i hear) is immaculate.

Well I have never heard much about Trick seen some of the drums and heard of a guy that loved em. And since it looks like your a rock drummer by the sizes you want Trick might be good because they seem to have only rock drummers play them. But I would say play on a few Trick and DW kits. Or at least try. I had never played the drums I bought (Mapex Saturn) and I love them. If you cant play them sure go by reviews and try to go what your looking for. I have played on a great many DW kits and like them alot personally. So I mean just keep searching and trying to play.

I've compared Trick Aluminum to other brands in a large drum shop. Trick toms totally suck compared to nearly every other company. My friends and I played every kit that was set up for demo. Get the DW.
This particular drum shop is a high volume dealer, and they can't get rid of their last two Trick kits. Once they are gone, the shop won't be getting any more.

it all depends on what your going for. what kind of style you play. im having major problems right now cause my iron cobrahs finaly blew up on me after 6 years. after learning all the ins and outs of that pedal i for some reason chose to try a new pedal. bad idea! i got the 5000 cause i though they looks fery durable. for the music i play there fucking horrible. you can only use the stupidly huge beater that comes with it cause everyother beater is to fin light. and now that ive gotten use to them the iron conrahs feel weird now. the 5000 or any dw pedal is a very heavy pedal. for me trying to do anything over 200bpm is extremly hard. so im going axis route cause that the way i feel is best. thge tricks are awesome but so damn expensive. as far as pedal they ar4e flawless.

I believe he's talkin about drums. I would take DW's over Trick easily. However, I would take the trick pedals over DW pedals. I've had a bad experience with the DW 5000's breaking and being clunky.

 DW
THE DW' S HAVE ESTABLISHED THEMSELVES AS THE BEST, WHILE THE TRICKS ARE STILL WORKING OUT THE NEGITIVES. TRICK DOES MAKE A GREAT SNARE.

DW makes their own shells. They used to use Keller, and I believe they use Keller on products that they don't produce. Have you heard the sound of a Timbre matched drum? You wanna buy the best, you're going to pay for it.
