first OF all, OF is spelled like this..."O-F"

second, i think ur good with just triggering your bass drum. triggering everything will make ur drums sound electronic.

for custom sounds, did the module come with a manual? if so its prolly in there somewhere or just dink around with it for a couple hours and see if you find anything that you like.

mics do a different job from triggers.

mics pick up sound.
triggers go on impact hits etc.

with triggers live you can completely trigger all your drums and program a sound to each trigger. then you play the triggered sound through the PA to the audience , over band members etc. lots of metal bands drummers would use triggers. before ppl blow up and im sure there are loads who dont. with mics you get the sound of the drums you play. with triggers you can have a shit untuned drum kit and sound good.

You can customize the sound that is triggered in the TD-3 itself. You will want to find the edit mode and start messing with the parameters of the sound.

AS far as trigger live, the chief advantage that I can think of is that when you have a soundman that isn't very good, your sound will not be affected by him unless he is a complete embicle! Partial embicles will be okay with triggering and competent soundmen might be offended a little because they actaully take pride in doing a job well done. Triggering assumes that the good soundman is the embicle or nimrod.

U dumb shit. All they do is let you hear every stroke your producing.

Do you not understand that sentence?

Its fuckin easy.

You hit the bass drum. The trigger sends a signal to the module, the module produces a sound sent out through a PA system. This is called sound.

If you think you can play at 230-260 bpm and higher and still have the strokes be audible as somewhere around 180 your an idiot.

Thats all it does.

Its like a mic on steroids.

And yes they do help you get better because you hear every flammed stroke, every slowed down, sped up, or inaccurate stroke you make on the bass or snare or toms or whatever.

kylevater, I'm sorry your mother drank during her pregnancy!....atemygoat, axis DOES make triggers that fit right on your pedal...it's called the E-KIT they sell it at www.interstatemusic.com for around $70.......they look like they're really solid..but you have to invert your beater to strike a pedal mounted pad(yeah i know it sounds weird) but check em out on the axis site or interstate music
