I just got my new Orange county custom set, and I have never have two floor toms one of them being a 14x14 floor tom and it sounds good but I was wondering if anyone has any tips on tuning a 14x14

put snares on it, strap it up to a vest and march around with it........

but for real, im guessing your toms are a 12, 14, 16? if so then just focus on a good intervale all the way down the toms. it might not be as "boomy" as a floor tom but you'll want it to blend with the sound of the other toms. when you hit those doubles on the foor you want it to thump. and you also want a fill from the 12 inch to the 14 inch to sound balanced.

I have a 14 x 14, I love it. just tune it how you like it...

If there's one drum on a kit that'll give me grief - it's a 14" tom. Me and 14" toms don't get along very well.

My advice would be to tune UP, not down. Start off with wrinckled, loose heads and tune up to the tone you like. Don't over-tighten and then try to tune down. That never works for me....I always tune up on these larger drums.
