We were just talking about this.
If you don't mind me asking, and I mean no offense (this is just to settle a debate)
What made you want it, or what turned you on to it? Are you a Pantera fan?

I didn't really go for it especially, I was just looking for a new snare and was browsing on the net and saw it, and just wondered if it was any gud

Thanks, we were just discussing marketing.
I haven't seen one, but everyone seems to have a high opinion of it

lol, i know what debate you mean! (jj?).

i actually 'heard' this snare drum before i even saw it and it does sound good imo. but im not a big fan of the snake skin pattern. if i ever get a custom snare then i would be very tempted to get it made in those sizes.

Listening to that track, I would have guessed it to be a metal snare, like an old Ludwig.

here is mine:

i love it!! it is loud cranked or tuned low. i dig pantera, but i bought it because i love the sound and depth of it. i use it for alternative rock mainly. it really cuts through compared to my 14x5. i have it tuned mid-range, and it is fat and warm. it has thunderous cracking rimshots. i would recommend it anyday, i played well over 50 snares looking for what i wanted, everything from DW to OCDP to Tama, and i loved this one.

if you check out our myspace, this snare is used on the song "Easier than You". it is just a rough demo about a year old, and not mixed very well, but it is an idea of what it sounds like.

Wow, I'm not a huge snake skin fan but I still think that snare looks pretty damn good.

I'd love to try that one out, sounds like a beast.

like i said, it is probably made for metal but i love the tone. i didn't buy it because "OMG ITS GONNA MAKE ME SOUND LIKE PANTERA!!!!" but i love the size, the tone, its volume, and its maple. I actually like the finish, but it doesn't go with anything lol. i like the tube lugs but the spikes are kinda annoying, especially when i hit my legs on them, OUCH Shocked !

i have played soft rock, alternative, metal, christian worship, southern rock, hard rock, funk, and yes, even a sit in country gig all with this snare. it is easy to tune to any situation, very versatile. i actually play very little metal with this snare.

The only reason why I don't have it is because of the snake skin finish. I love the sound, love Pantera, and Vinnie Paul is my favorite drummer ever.
