 Was anyone dissapointed with a black panther
I am thinking of purchasing a Black Panther 61/2x14 Walnut model and i toled my friend who drums in a big local band whos played them b4 that hes was shit is there a good way to tune them or are they easy to tune or is he just a dick?

They're great snares, just not great for everything.

They're great snares, just not great for everything.
I was going to say the same thing. A guy playing in a small jazz combo would obviously not like using a Pearl Joey Jordison snare, and a guy playing death metal probably wouldn't like a Symphonic Snare. You just have to know the sound you're looking for, and know what drum to buy to make that sound. If you want a snare with a great crack, that still has some body and warmth to it, the Black Panther should fit the bill, provided you know how to tune and tweak a snare drum to your liking. If you want to play music that doesn't have a snare with that sort of crack, don't buy a snare designed for that.

mapex king...are u the kid on u tube who plays tool and stuff???...well i have a black panther snare..they are quite hard to tune..mines 13x6 premium series..the blonde 1...i tuned it good now and it sounds great..but it was a battle

Well yeah ill be playing like a hole lota stuff im in a jazz band im in a brass band im in a old school punk band and besides that ill much around and try and play anything thats cool aswell and yes 46&2 im that kid on utube who likes tool lol

I've never even heard anyone say anything bad about a Black Panther Snare Drum

I own a black panther maple 12x7. Love it to death. never had any complaints.
