What's everyones preference on double bass pedals?
I myself use Tama's Iron Cobra double bass pedal with a pair of really big DW beaters, but it's kinda old and I'm looking to replace it. I need something loud, smooth and sturdy. I dont want it sliding all over the place like my Iron Cobra does on occasion. So what kind of pedal(s) do you use and what do you recommend for me?

I thought that cobras were supposed to be really smooth....

They are really smooth, but they're also really old and the springs are starting to get a little warn out. I went to Guitar Center the other day and played on a set of DW9000's and have been dreaming of that pedal ever since. But then again I really like the feel of the Cobras. So maybe I should just save my money and get new springs?

I use Pearl double pedals. They are single chain, but very smooth. I am looking into DW's 9000, 5000, Axis Longboards, or Trick pedals. The only reason I'm doing that is because my son wants mine and it's a good time for a change.

I used a DW 5000 double pedal for years and loved it. A friend has an Iron Cobra, and I like playing on that as well.

DW 9000's are supposed to be like the God of all pedals.
I myself am looking out for some Cobra's on eBay or something.
Cobra's have been described as really nice pedals. So I'm convinced.
Plus they look cool too
You gotta love the name too "Iron Cobra" Ahh that shit just has AWESOME written all over it.

I have tried Axis, DW 9000s, DW 5000s, & Pearls.
All good in one way or another.

I'd just replace the springs; I've got too little cash flow and there's more things I'd spend money on. I find the 9000s almost TOO smooth. I like the chunkiness of the cobras.
They're sliding around? Mine never do that. Are you sure you have the carpet spikes deployed? :p

It can make a big difference. I would order Iron Cobra springs so it feels like an Iron Cobra. Also, lubricating occasionally helps

I love DW hardware, and use to play DW5000 pedals...I loved them. I went to Pearl Eliminators, and they were ok, buy heavy. The interchangable cams are neat to experiment with as well. Tama's Iron Cobra's are also a favorite, but I was looking for a pedal that was smoother, lighter, had more power, and was direct-drive. I bought a pair of Axis Long-boards, and found all I was looking for. These pedals are just "pure sick"! I've been using them now for over 5 yrs and would'nt part with them for anything.

In the 100-200 dolar price range I'd go for the Pearl P122TW which I have or the Iron Cobra Jr's and above all the Yamaha Direct drive dp.
