these threads are getting a little too much. I like the red to black burst. also the blue to black burst. the emrald green burst is pretty sick too

If your really picking from only those 2 colors you should be able to make this decision by yourself.

Flip a coin and get over it.
Are you buying these drums for us or for YOU? Buy what YOU like. Does is right, man. These topics are getting annoying. I'm going to flat out say this, now. Are you capable of making up your own mind? Do you even know what you like? Why are you so concerned with other people's opinions? Seriously, time to put the big boy pants on and start making up YOUR OWN mind.

Which gun should I get to put a slug through the skull of the next person that starts a thread about the choice of finishes on a kit they are probably not going to order anyway?
An M1 Carbine or a shotgun?

M1 for sure. Big mess, no chance of survival, better mental picture...did I say thank you?

C'mon guys just kidding. I own a Mapex snare for gawd sakes. xdoseonex I never said that DW were the best and all others suck, I just tell the puriton DW haters to Bog off. The only truly bad experience with Drums I've had was with a Pearl Ref kit, and I have said in the past that could of been down to that particular set. I'm not a Pearl hater because of that, and certainly not a Mapex hater.
A friend of mine has a basic Mapex endorsement as a teacher. He loves his kit but pointed out to me that Mapex have annoyingly designed the floor tom leg brackets so you can't put the drum into it's matching case. So if you have a 16" you need an 18" case etc. Not so funny for carting it around and packing them into the car. I've got to say though that DW's design only just squeezes in to softcases.
Oh and buy it in black!

Dude Im glad you posted this question. Ignore everyone else and there bitching about people asking questions about drum finishes. Heaven forbid this be a place where we can ask questions and get opinions from others.
Id go with the sapphire. Its a deep clean color and wont show dirt or dust very much.
Thats my 2 cents.
Hope it helps.
