cymbals are like women, each one of them is unique unto itself. get the sound you want in your head and then find the cymbal that matches it. being a label slave is pointless. i tried it before and it sucked.

im in love with sabian. for a multitude of reasons, but a big one is consistance. they stand behind their product and they work with you as an individual. i think thats huge, and for the sound of the cymbals...how can you not fall in love? haha, but i have nothing bad to say about zildjian and paiste. im actually a huge fan of A customs. but who isnt right? lol

I like the Paiste Rude cymbals.
They sound so awesome.
Although I use Zildjian, I am actually begining to wish I bought a Paiste starter pack.
Also, if you're going to buy some, consider which type of music that you enjoy/want to play!
Also what's your budget?

Irrelevant.
I played Paiste for a while, but they sucked too much money out of me whenever I wanted to buy a new cymbal. I ended up switching to Zildjian and the more traditional, dark sound of their K series just amazed me. All of my idols played Zildjian.

I'm with you there. I don't really have a preference when it comes to brands. If the cymbal sounds good, then why should I care what the brand is?

sweet action no myspazz bs! anyway im a zildjian whore to tell you the truth, BUT i LOVE the paiste rude line, and the sabian vault line. i agree with the "cymbals are like women" it made me laugh my ass off to see someone else use it besides myself. it's how i've been tellin ppl that want to play and want to know what the best of the best are. although all but 1 of my cymbals are zildjians i cant go either way in this.[/code]

Whatever you like...they are all great.
I've owned them all.
My Dad used Zildjian...Many of the drummers I respect the most use Zildjian.
Many use Paiste, more have switched to Sabian.
it's a matter of preference or endorsement.
I have all Zildjian right now.
They have everything I need.

Sabian has made some of the best cymbals for jazz out there. I love that company.
