 Zildjian ZBT
Okay, so I was looking at the ZBT 4 Rock Cymbal Pack and it has some pretty bad reviews (On musicians friend), but having played them I found them pretty good (Not on my own personal kit), should I go with my opinion or real musicians opinions?

Areen't you a real musician? Trust what you like. Personally I play high end cymbals (Z and A customs). Bottom line, you get what you pay for. P.O.Y!

I got ZBT's. They were good to me for almost three years. I liked em a lot.
I want something new though. My ears are itching for a better sound (A's a Customs)

I also have those ZBT 4 Rock Pack and think that they're not a bad cymbals. I really like the bell of the ride but just hate the hihat, so basically there are some good and bad stuff about them.

ZBT's, B8's, etc. are all toys more so than musical instruments. I can' even stand to practice on those things. They are great for beginners who haven't committed to actually becoming a musician yet though. That's my two cents. If you're serious about becoming a musician then do away with the clankety cymbals asap.

I totally disagree with you! It's basically just preference. ZBT, etc cymbals is not as bad as what you think. I tried lots of them from ZBT, ZXT and even B8 and think that they aren't as bad as you guys think! I really like the sound of the bell of my ZBT rock ride and I also like the sound of the B8 China Splash!

i baught a zildjian 18" rock ride and dam that thing has evil overtones and its bloody louder cymbal ive ever encountered cant play it without earplugs in but the ovotones are so bad they continue on for like a minute , but ive heard good things about zbt rides if i were you id look into pst 5s if you could from what ive heard and im planning on getting them is there the best intermediate level cymbal some even say there heading into pro so yer good quality but if u like the sound on the zbts then go for it who are we to stop you

I find with bottom or mid range cymbals that they sound fine by themselves really. Perhaps lacking that je ne s'ais quoi of higher end stuff. But then I find that playing them live they get lost in the mix a lot.
Still, it changes with everyone and everywhere

I'm thinking of just getting maybe ZBTs for my intermediate set, then once I get a job (I'm only 14 atm) maybe getting customs, most likely Zs.
And what set of ZBT, Pro or Rock?
EDIT : Just looked at PST 5 and I could afford them atm, but I dunno cos I've never played Paiste.
